The parenting and lifestyle blogger from North East England shared seven simple interior design hacks for bringing the outside in.
As the temperatures rise and we’re starting to see a bit more of that glorious sunshine it’s a really great idea to utilise the outdoors and bring it into your home. This can be done using various different interior design hacks, none of which need to be particularly expensive or hard work.
1. Choose an earthy colour scheme.
A really simple way of bringing the outside in is with your rooms colour scheme. By using earthy tones and colours you’re promoting a natural ambience in your living space. It’s also been proven that using these types of colours can make you feel more relaxed and nonchalant within your space.
2. Clear window spaces.
This might sound like just tidying your home, but there’s so much more to it than that. Sure clearing clutter from your window spaces is part of it, but it’s worth also considering your window coverings. Venetian blinds for example offer practicality when it comes to shading your home, but they’re also quite clunky. By rolling the blinds up and clearing your window space you’re instantly bringing the outside in. Giving yourself a clearer view of the outdoors can be highly beneficial.
3. Bring the outside in using plants.
Whether real or artificial, bringing plants into our home will instantly transform your space. We’re big on plants in our home. Just looking around from my desk I can see eight different areas of greenery. Some real, some artificial, but it makes a huge difference in making your house feel like a home.
